Octaspring is a synthetic or polyurethane spring that is produced of high density polyurethane and it is derived from the existing Polyspring spring. With the Polyspring the emphasis is on flexibility and on softness, the emphasis with the Octaspring is on strength, elasticity and robustness. It easily reaches the resistance of a steel spring, without showing a single disadvantage of that steel spring. Mattress internal core and mattress toppers that are made of this product are qualitative superior to every other bouncing material that is common on the bed market. The name Octaspring refers to the octogonal shape that is clearly visible on the inside of the spring and is shaped by the eight strengthened ribs. These ribs are also visible on the outside of the spring. It are those strengthened ribs that give Octaspring its special qualities.
The revolutionary qualities of the Octaspring
During the development of the Octaspring, a lot of attention goes to quality, durability and the environment. That the environment is important for everyone, is a clear case and was therefore taken into account. Because we do not use steel springs to achieve an equal elasticity, a lot of air pollution can be prevented. There is also the use of Octaspring instead of a full PU mattress core.

As a result the volume of PU foam is reduced by 30 to 40%, which makes the carbon dioxide emissions decrease with thousands of tons worldwide. Furthermore, Octasprings can be manufactured of slabstock foam without any additional forms of cutting waste, which makes a big difference in comparison with the PU mattress cores that are made on a contour cutting machine. Beside these curiosities, there are several physical qualities that make Octaspring an appealing product. Octaspring leads to a level of comfort that has not been known up to now. |

Super point elasticity Octasprings are not vertically linked to each other in the mattress core, but they are attached with the upper and underlying support. This offers excellent point elasticity and makes it possible for the Octaspring to move nearly tridimensional. |
Durability Octasprings are tested on a life span of minimum 10 to 15 years, according to EN 1957 norms. They stand those tests excellently. |
Varying degrees of hardness and qualities Octasprings are available in several degrees of hardness and densities. As a result, the exact necessary resistance can be built up in the mattress core in accordance with the several weight classes and body contours of people. Air and moisture transport Octasprings are manufactured of air-permeable polyurethane foam and are therefore air and fluid transportable. The fluids that someone loses during sleep, will therefore find a way out of the mattress in order to avoid the occurrence of a dank surface in bed that can appear when fluids can not escape. In addition, the Octaspring core does not need foam blocks around the mattress core as the Octaspring core offers sufficient strength that reaches the edges of the mattress. The “open border” system as well is applied, resulting in a perfect ventilating whole, and making sure that the temperature inside the bed is stabilized. |
Diverse supporting zones The Octaspring system allows different resistance to each row of springs. Because that is not always desirable, up till 10 different resistance levels, which have one by one different compositions, are built in. ![]() |
Perfect for electric boxsprings and slatted bases Because not a single steel wire can influence the flexibility of the mattress core and the Octaspring acts as a very homogeneous whole, the core will automatically take on the precise position of the slatted base. Various spring heights Octasprings are manufactured in 3 different heights, nl. 6 and 7 cm height, 8 and 9 cm height, and 11 and 12 cm height, depending on whether one or two supports are installed. Octaspring can also be produced with one single support so that one side is free for installing other materials or things. |
Combining possibilities of diverse types of
Octasprings As mentioned above, the Octasprings are produced in several heights. Those heights offer a lot of possibilities because one can easily combine several qualities of Octasprings to reach an ideal resistance. Cores with a height of 20 cm or more, for example, can be combined in a very stable way. |
Octasprings in mattress toppers Very low springs can be incorporated in the core of the mattress topper. If you combine that with the fact that it is possible to choose various resistance levels and the fact that Octaspring and all other used materials are very air-permeable and work ventilating. All those characterizations make Octaspring the ideal material for the topper core. |
